Earth Day Design Contest: Vote Now

Earth Day Design Contest Vote Now

One of our favorite holidays is upon us, Earth Day. In the spirit of celebrating nature's beauty and doing a some good for the environment we reached out to the creative community to participate in our third annual Earth Day Design Contest. This year we dived into an Ocean of Delight design theme, in hopes to bring your marine fantasies to life. In return for each valid entry, we pledged a $10 donation to Ocean Conservancy, a hardworking environmental nonprofit working to restore our beloved ocean habitats, allowing marine life to thrive.

The submissions are in! Imagine wrapping your next gift in one of these adorable sea-inspired patterns. Which are your favorites? You and all your friends (so be sure to spread the word!) are invited to vote through April 28. The crowd-favorites will be announced May 1.

Time to cast your ballot: VOTE HERE

Giving back doesn’t stop there; on top of our pledge to Ocean Conservancy we've offered our winning designers the chance to name their own favorite eco-charity to receive 5% of the online sales of their winning Wrappily wrapping paper.

We would like to thank all the artists who took the time to enter our design contest. This year we heard from talented designers from as far away as Australia, Colombia, Germany, and right here in our own sunny back yard of Hawaii.

We’re one step closer new Wrappily print! Before voting take a closer look at this year’s submissions and artist's comments below.

Earth Day Design Contest - 2017 Finalists:

El Mar By Catalina Villegas Charity of choice: TBD "The intricacy and variety of living creatures on coral reefs and around the ocean. It's kind of like a natural replica of the starry sky but underwater. So I wanted to capture the essence of what I think it might feel like to live underwater, an explosion of color (even though my palette is restricted to 3), movement, and creatures of all sorts. El Mar!"

Dancing Mantas and Ocean Waves By Perunoto Charity of choice: TBD "We were traveling in Japan and during our trip to Okinawa with its beautiful untouched nature and ocean we went out diving hoping to encounter some Manta Rays. When you look up from the ocean floor and see a number of Mantas dancing gracefully above your head, this is the best experience you can have underwater. And this was my best experience with mother nature as well!"

Starfish By Carolyn Page Charity of choice: TBD "I was mostly inspired by images of starfish whose parts of their bodies could be camouflaged leaving the other parts exposed. I decided to make my starfish out of the exposed pieces, but went for a hand drawn look. I also wanted the pieces smaller so I could I have more details, and as for the colors, they were complementary to the original colors I picked based off of coral zoanthids."
